Licence and editions

Every edition is in the same image. Without a licence the additional areas are visible, with a lock and an explanation of what they do; the server refuses their requests on its own. A licence key or the trial unlocks them at once.

Editions

Trial

With the trial you try every function of Pro, Enterprise and the ISMS add-on once for 30 days, without a key and without an internet connection.

1. Open Settings › License and edition.
2. Choose Try for 30 days. The page shows until when the trial runs.
3. Enter a licence key before it ends if you want to go on.

Afterwards the community edition applies again. Your data are kept; the additional areas are locked until you enter a licence key. With a valid key no trial is offered.

Entering a licence key

1. You get the key through the shop on sentry-assets.de.
2. Enter it under Settings › License and edition.
3. The page shows what the key unlocks, the asset limit and the term.

• The key is checked offline, through a signature of the vendor. The installation needs no internet connection for it and sends no usage data.
• One key applies per organisation.
• After the term the community edition applies again; all data are kept.

Note

To run the community edition alone, set SA_EXTENSIONS= (empty) in .env and rebuild the images. The areas of the extensions are then missing, and so is the trial.

The software licence

SentryAssets is source-available, and every edition is licensed under the Elastic License 2.0 (Elastic-2.0).

• You may use, change and pass on the software.
• You may not offer it to third parties as a hosted or managed service or circumvent its licence key functionality.
• The software is provided without warranty (section “No Liability” of the licence).
• Third-party components keep their own licences.
